Léa is a cycle-tracking app (period, fertility, symptoms). Your health data is among the most intimate there is — which is why Léa is built "local-first". Your data stays on your device; only usage statistics unlinked to your identity and the feedback you choose to send go through our server (details below).
Everything you log in Léa — period dates, ovulation, flow, mood, symptoms, discharge, intimacy, weight, temperature, notes — is stored on your device and, if you enable it, synced via your private iCloud account. This data:
If you use the Partner screen, you generate a summary of your cycle yourself and share it through the iOS share sheet (message, email…), to whomever you choose. Nothing is synced automatically and nothing goes through our servers.
Reminders (upcoming period, fertile window, pill, check-in…) are scheduled locally on your device. No push notification is sent from a server.
Subscriptions and purchases are handled by Apple (App Store). We have no access to your payment information.
To understand how the app is used, catch bugs and see where people get stuck, Léa sends plain counters to our server (api.mesrdv.fr, hosted in the European Union): number of recorded cycles, number of logged days, subscription status.
What we never send: nothing you write down — no period dates, no symptoms, no temperature, no weight, no notes.
These counters carry a random install identifier, drawn when you first open the app. It does one thing: tell two installs apart over time, so we can see whether people come back. That identifier:
We are therefore never in a position to know which person uses Léa — only how many people do, and how.
This data is never sold, shared, or used for advertising. No third-party analytics, no ad network, no tracker. It is kept for 90 days in detail and 13 months as daily totals, then deleted automatically. You can switch it off at any time in Settings → Community → “Help improve the app”.
If Léa crashes, freezes, or uses an abnormal amount of CPU or disk, iOS prepares a technical report that the app sends to our server (api.mesrdv.fr, hosted in the European Union). It is our only way of learning that a release is broken for someone: in practice nobody writes in to report a crash — they delete the app.
What is sent: the kind of incident (crash, hang, CPU, disk writes), the
technical reason for the termination, the parts of the program involved as offsets
(Lea+0x1234), the version and build number, the iOS version, the device model and
its architecture.
What is never sent: none of your data, nothing you typed, no photo, no document, no file path. Our server does not keep your IP address either.
These reports carry the same random install identifier as the statistics, only to group several incidents from one device; it cannot identify you. iOS does not deliver them as they happen: it hands them over once a day, at the next launch.
Please note: in the current release these reports are sent even if you have switched usage statistics off — that setting only covers the counters described above.
If you submit an idea or report a bug from the app, the text you write is sent to our server so we can read it. This is voluntary — don't include personal or health information. These contributions are tied to the same install identifier, which cannot identify you.
Léa is not a medical device. Predictions are estimates and replace neither medical advice nor contraception.
